A SPATIAL PUZZLE
Rotate, flip, and fit four pieces into one board. Fill every square and try to beat the record.
MINI GAME / SPATIAL THINKING
Four pieces. 16 squares. Rotate and flip to fill the entire board.
Fill every square. No gaps. No overlaps.
Your timer starts when you press Start. Take a look at the pieces first.
ALL 16 SQUARES / FILLED
Click or tap a piece, then a board square. Each piece’s dotted anchor square lands where you click. R rotates clockwise; F mirrors horizontally. Use arrow keys on the board and Enter to place. Undo does not stop the timer.
The timer continues while you switch tabs. Restart begins a new attempt. A completed board is checked and timed on the server; verification includes network travel time. The fastest saved time stays until someone beats it. Ties keep the existing record.
This is a spatial puzzle inspired by fitting parts within an envelope—not a simulation of engineering clearances or a company product.

Engineering question: What physical requirements are needed to evaluate an idea?
My contribution: I help define envelopes, clearances, mounting, and connections, and create concept geometry to support cross-functional discussion.
Work products: Mechanical concept models and organized integration requirements, including assumptions and missing specialist inputs.
Engineering question: What must be coordinated to make a prototype useful?
My contribution: I coordinate mechanical, material, and assembly considerations with implementation partners and keep alternatives distinguishable.
Work products: Structured comparisons of alternatives and integration considerations for prototype work.
These summaries describe my contribution at a general level, not sole ownership or a product-release claim. Internal program details and work samples are not included.
A Surface-inspired character for a product that sits between tablet and laptop.
A familiar form, with a tightly connected world of components inside.
These Surface-inspired illustrations are visual references. My experience below is described at a general level and does not identify a particular product generation or disclose internal designs.
REQUIREMENTS → GEOMETRY
I help translate functional goals into physical envelopes, placement, clearances, mounting, and interface requirements. Concept CAD gives specialists something concrete to examine together.
COMPONENT → SYSTEM
I coordinate enclosure and component integration studies, considering structural support, assembly, manufacturability, and serviceability alongside electrical and industrial design input.
CONCEPT → PROTOTYPE
I support prototype integration by coordinating mechanical, material, and assembly considerations with implementation partners and keeping alternatives comparable.
ONE PRODUCT → PLATFORM
I evaluate commonality through interface compatibility and integration constraints, identifying what can be shared and what must adapt to a product’s requirements.

I’m Eunsung Kim, a mechanical engineer with a background in consumer hardware, automotive development, and durability research.
I enjoy the space between an individual part and the whole product: the mounting, interfaces, assembly decisions, and trade-offs that make a design work. My approach combines detailed mechanical thinking with a broader view of the system.
